(edit 04/04/2010: completed, prolonged and slightly reworked for mixing purposes) (edit 28/08/2010: reworked the acid sound to what it should be) this track is about finding comfort - maybe even pleasure - in the fact that everyone is insignificant in the vastness of the universe. call it my personal religion, if you will. these are the lyrics: at night when i look up to the sky and see all these stars it makes me feel very small and yet because of this insignificance nothing really matters i can do anything i want i know i'm not special just one of many individuals it is fun to be insignificant i can do whatever i want note: because i recently took the plunge and started working on apple and ableton, i have a lot of tracks made with noisetrekker that were unfinished or still in need for some work on buildup, mastering, sounds, etc. this tracks is one of them. however, i'd rather post them here than leave them on a hard-drive. (composed with noisetrekker 2final, 126 bpm)
cool
some nice stuff
well done!!!
i like it, the sounds do give some kind of universe infinite feeling, so the lyrics fits with the music
thank you all.. i'm relieved that this is finished and that you like it, because i've been working long and hard on this track.
some cool elements in this one. i especially like the sound and groove of that first bassy synth that is panned... kraftwerk anno 2010!
kewl!
bwoh...you're still using that voice generator? ;-) C'mon man grab a mic and start using your own voice. Even if you doubt about your vocal capacities it doesn't matter, put some fx on it we can all become Pop Idols with the right software haha ;-) Indeed minimal, fits the genre, not sure about the Kraftwerk comparison though..can't remember them using the acids so much upfront? I could be mistaking though it's been a while since I last listened to them. Melodies/compo: good! Very hum-along-friendly. Well and I've been posting it on maaaany songs before here on ebel, I don't like claps, use snares or rimshots instead ;-) Well that's just my personal taste of course. I like what you did with the voice towards the end, more reverb on it it fits the song better. Still think you should just use your own voice though. Think you should rework the last 40 seconds, that sounds like a classic sound from good ol' E-Jay software haha but it's minimal you're making here...not Eurotrance ;-) So I would try to have it end another way. Keep it up!
thanks fellas :) @rabauw: i'm not using the voice generator anymore.. i started this track a long time ago and it went nowhere. just recently before i posted this, i started working on it again and then i felt like it could be something interesting.. at the time, these voices seemed to fit well in my opinion. i don't intend to rework this again, as i finally left the noisetrekker-era behind me to fully concentrate on ableton live. to comfort you somewhat, i'm designing a vocal booth as we speak.. but it's not me that is going to sing :)
